Dear Friend/Colleague,
The 2nd Annual Black Culture International On Parade & Festival in Cleveland, Ohio will take place during the dates of August 10-12, 2006. You are invited to participate in this celebratory and joyous event as a sponsor, group or individual participant, vendor, or benefactor. All donations and fees will, of course, help to defray the costs associated with the parade and festival.
The purpose of the parade is to showcase and share with the citizens of Greater Cleveland, the many peoples and cultures of Africans in the Diaspora who live in the City of Cleveland and surrounding areas.
The 2005 event was truly international and a huge success. The theme of the BCIOP parade is Honoring Our Ancestors. In 2005, the festival honored Marcus Garvey. This year’s honoree is Queen Nzinga, the African monarch who fought tenaciously and effectively to prevent her people from being "eaten" by the Slave Trade.
This year's program also will feature an International Business Conference on August 10th, followed by an Ambassador’s Ball on August 11th.
The complete, but not final, program overview can be found here. The registration forms are designed to complete either manually or digitally. Instructions are included.
Please submit the appropriate registration form(s) and fees no later than 15 July 2006.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact Mr. Carl Williams, Founder and Committee Chairperson, at 216-921-2892 or by email at Guinepe@juno.com. As publisher of Black Culture Magazine and host of Culture time TV, Carl is available to speak about the Parade and Festival to your group.
Your participation will be sincerely welcomed. Feel free to pass this information and the BCIOP registration packet along to others. My sincere apologies if your have already received this information.
Sincerely yours,
Melvin Hendrix
Member, BCIOP Committee
